This past week has brought some fantastic fishing to the Naples area. The last couple of cold fronts have finally dropped the water temperatures, and the kingfish have arrived offshore in Naples. Finally time to fire up the smoker and have some fish dip! The bottom bite offshore in Naples has also picked up yielding some nice snapper on our recent outings. In the backwater, the sheepshead and trout bite has picked up as well with the cooler water temperatures. The fishing for this busy holiday week ahead should continue to be just as productive. We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!

The past week has been productive both offshore in Naples and the backwater south of Naples bay! Offshore we have had good luck with the spanish mackerel as well as some snapper and a few sharks on our 1/2 day offshore trips. Water temps. are finally dropping, and we got our first cold front of the year. For us locals it’s always a welcome event! With the cooler temps we look forward to seeing the kingfish soon. I already have my smoker ready! The fishing in the backwater in Naples continues to be great. We are catching everything from snook, redfish, sheepshead, and trout. On one of our backwater outings this week, we also hooked up with some pompano. This week also brought a sightseeing trip to Cape Romano to visit the dome houses, and we ran into a pod of dolphins on our way. Don’t forget to support our local crabbers and buy some fresh stone crab!
